“Animals are so innocent, so sweet. And If I don't look after them, who will? I just hope my chickens aren't too upset when I take their eggs.”
— Marnie
Marnie is a villager who lives just to the west of Pelican Town at Marnie's Ranch. She also runs a shop at Marnie's Ranch where she sells animals and animal supplies.
Marnie exercises with some of the other ladies of Pelican Town so we can assume she is friends with them.
Lewis and Marnie also appear to have a very close relationship - they can be found drinking together in the Saloon some evenings; Lewis visits Marnie to attend to her "business needs"; additionally one of the quests raises some suspicions, and one of the heart events pretty much confirms their relationship.
However, Marnie herself claims to be single during the Flower Dance.
One day she will meet you outside your house and ask you to bring her a cave carrot for her goats.
Details
She is trying to train her goats to speak and cave carrots are their favorite snack. This puts a quest in the journal. If the player brings a cave carrot to Marnie's home it will instead trigger a cutscene with the player giving the it to Marnie. She then thanks the player, and says that it looks in such good condition that she could almost eat it for herself. This cutscene triggers regardless of whether or not Marnie is home.
Six Hearts
After 7PM, enter Pelican Town to find Lewis and Marnie by Lewis' house.
NOTE: Only occur if both Marnie and Lewis are at 6 hearts.
Details
After entering into Pelican Town after 7PM, you will appear behind Lewis' house. Lewis and Marnie are talking by the river about making their romance public. Lewis says it would undermine his authority, while Marnie says he's too concerned for his job. In the end, Marnie says she'll keep their relationship a secret. Afterwards, you'll pop up and scare both Lewis and Marnie. Lewis asks you if you heard anything, and you are presented with a choice. If you choose to keep the secret, Lewis will thank you. If you say you'll tell everyone in town, Lewis will cry. Afterwards, Marnie will ask why you were behind the house, and your character will run away, leaving the two alone and confused.
No change in relationship occurs if you say you will keep the secret with Marnie or Lewis.
