Weather changes day by day and dependent on the season the player is experiencing. The weather for the next day can be checked by viewing the TV screen and selecting 'Weather Report'.
Weather patterns
The weather patterns in game include:
- Sun
- Rain (The Rain Totem can increase the chance of rain for the next day)
- Pollen (during Spring or Fall)
- Storm (including Rain)
- Snow (only during Winter)
The weather affects the types of fish that can be caught, crops that can be grown, items that can be foraged, and villager dialogue.
During thunder storms there is a possibility that lightning strikes can destroy crops and temporarily change fruit bearing trees to coal trees. Lightning will not strike Chests placed outside[1]. If Lightning Rods are placed anywhere on the farm[2] they have a good chance to intercept lightning strikes, as long as they are not already processing a strike into a Battery Pack.
