Iron Ore is obtained by mining iron nodes with a pickaxe or from Fishing Treasure Chests. Iron ore can also be purchased from the Blacksmith for 150g.
Mining an iron node will yield between 1 and 3 iron ore. These nodes become common around level 40-50 in the Mines. It's fairly easy to farm Iron Ore and coal by killing Dust Sprites there.
Iron ore can be smelted in a furnace to create an iron bar. The smelting requires 5 iron ore and 1 coal to begin and takes 2 hours to complete.
